Most weekends, I’m out and about all day, rummaging through thrift stores and garage sales or catching a drink with friends. In this post, I take you through a day in the life, as I transition my look from morning to late afternoon. You’ll be surprised at how many ways one can wear a tunic. To get this tunic click here.
I built my own capsule collection this past summer and fell in love with the fact that I could wear my whole closet over and over again. This has caused me to experiment and really create my own style. For someone that’s looking to find their own style, creating a capsule collection is a great way to start!
10am – 9th Bar for Coffee (First Look)
On weekend mornings, I like to go to my favorite local coffee spot called 9th bar. Normally, my boyfriend and I ride our bikes there, since it’s just down the road. As for this look, early mornings call for loose fitted clothing with room to relax and take in the day. I’m wearing my tunic as a long top over jeans.
11am – Downtown Shopping (Look 2)
After my morning coffee, I’m usually breaking for garage sales, searching through racks at my local thrift or admiring beautiful vintage goods in downtown Dunedin. In Florida, it’s obviously still hot in the fall, so I tied my tunic up to create a separate pant and top look.
12pm – Lunch at Orange Crate Cafe
Dunedin, Florida is big on craft beer and food. A foodie could really come to love this quaint town. My favorite cafe to grab lunch is at the Orange Crate, right off the bike path. It’s a pretty spot to people watch as bikes pass up and down the trail.
3pm – Beer at House of Brew (Look 3)
Going for a beer or too has become almost too common during the hot summer months. It was time to take off the jeans and enjoy a nice cold beer. I tied up the tunic over my slip I had tucked in earlier to create a look that I could easily convert to an evening out.
There are many thrift tunic dresses that you can DIY yourself, simply by cutting two slits on both sides. Check out this cool tutorial from JA Dolly to get DIY steps on how to make yours. See more of my daily life on my IG.
